Last night was the first day of our Everything Is Bigger In Texas Except For These Small Christmas Parties Tour with Red Sweater Lullaby. That's a long name to say in every post, though, so you may have seen it referenced as an Ugly Sweater Party Tour, which it is, too.
It was also the first time I have attempted to perform the Correspondence (a fiction) story through, in its entirety. It was fun.
I kind of screwed up a few things here and there, but Midland was a gracious audience, and hilarious surrounding a certain lyric about hating acoustic-guitar-guys, considering Kris is playing a stripped down, acoustic RSL set for this run.
At any rate, I'm excited to keep telling it. I didn't know what it would be like to perform acapella after having listened through it with Alex Sugg's amazing music accompanying the album so many times, but I wrote the story as a story before the soundtrack ever accompanied it, and I think it carries itself along as such. I'm excited to keep telling it over the course of this next week and a half, and beyond.
If you haven't heard the story yet, pick it up on iTunes or Bandcamp today, or grab yourself a physical copy with the lyric zine at our online store. And if you live in Texas, get yourself out to a date this week!
