A Necessary Dying

Lent 2023 | Day 16 | Friday, March 10

Week No. 03

I let go of my desire for power and control.

  • Welcome, welcome, welcome.
I welcome everything that comes to me today because I know it is for my healing.

I welcome all thoughts, feelings, emotions, persons, situations, and conditions.

I let go of my desire for power and control.

I let go of my desire for affection, esteem, approval and pleasure.

I let go of my desire for survival and security.

I let go of my desire to change any situation, condition, person or myself.

I open to the love and presence of God and God’s action within.

    Amen.

Quote Of The Day

There’s a necessary dying, and then Jesus is alive again.

Prompt Of The Day

In contemplative and wisdom traditions, death and resurrection are often talked about as not just a historical event, but an ever-present pattern of life.

We see it in the natural world. Fall comes and we jump in piles of leaves and then winter comes and what is old dies and then spring is a rebirth and summer is a celebration.

How have you experienced the “dying” and “living” pattern in your own life / faith / journey?

If you are a person of faith... has your faith crumpled? Has it stayed in a pile on the ground? Have you noticed anything like the resurrection of your hope?
