What Is Within You?

Lent 2023 | Day 26 | Thursday, March 23

Week No. 05

I let go of my desire for safety and security.

  • Welcome, welcome, welcome.
I welcome everything that comes to me today
because I know it is for my healing.

I welcome all thoughts, feelings, emotions, persons, situations, and conditions.

I let go of my desire for power and control.

I let go of my desire for affection, esteem, approval and pleasure.

I let go of my desire for survival and security.

I let go of my desire to change any situation, condition, person or myself.

I open to the love and presence of God and God’s action within.

    Amen.

Text in bold is this week’s focus.

Quote Of The Day

If you bring forth what is within you, what you bring forth will save you. If you do not bring forth what is within you, what you do not bring forth will destroy you.

- Jesus, Gospel of Thomas

Song Of The Day

Prompt Of The Day

Today, I’d like you to think about the things you bury inside. Are there dreams in you that you’re too afraid to acknowledge? Are there secrets that shouldn’t be? Is there something that needs to be said? Is there anything — positive or negative — that when you consider “giving birth” to it, you instead tense up, shove it back down, suppress it, and remain “safe” instead of “honest?”

Can you think of an instance in the past where getting it out “saved you?” Can you think of anything that you’ve kept in the dark “destroying you?”
