Bio

Short bio

Levi Macallister is an author, poet and spoken-word artist whose writing and records often explore grief, faith, love and what it is to be and become human.

Long bio

Under the moniker Levi The Poet, he has spent seventeen years touring, sharing poetry and creating theatrical audio-visual performances into which audiences might enter, and see themselves.

Levi's writing flows through the intersection of religion, spirituality, psychology and lived experience, as does his work as an artistic and spiritual director, where he meets with and accompanies creatives, aspiring artists and seekers as they find their path and walk it.

His first published collection of writing — It's All Worth Living For — is a coffee-table book featuring a decade's worth of poetry, photography and artwork. His most recent book — Pay Attention, You're Alive — is a collection of poetry and essays written between 2021 and 2025, and explores an evolving faith, divorce (and the years that followed), grief, love and new beginnings.

Levi lives in Nashville, Tennessee, with his dog, St. Francis The Labradoodle.

Praise

"Levi delivers unparalleled poetic ebb and flow that escapes every time he puts pen to paper."

— Tyler SharpAlternative Press Magazine

"Art as honest as yours is scarce. There is something heart-wrenching and life-giving about that kind of vulnerable, and crude, and gracious, and unapologetic honesty."

— Jamie KokotListener

"Levi's words are a source of comfort. His music is calming. I am grateful his words. The way he has been able to share so very much, and provided new trains of thought."
